Vacation 101
- Know Before You Go...
Dude ranch? European
vacation? Cattle drive? Riding on a tropical beach? The kids want to do a
trail ride at a national park this summer, but you're afraid of horses and not
so sure about it?
There’s nothing worse than changing your mind at the last minute -- just as the trail ride is leaving and you or your child is feeling the pressure from family, fellow riders, and the trail boss. Then you sit in the parking lot for two plus hours until they return. Know beforehand that it’s not for you. Don't waste time and money.
But, if you are feeling more adventurous, learn some basic riding skills -- mounting, position, steering, and, become familiar with the equipment you will use. Get those muscles into shape before you go and not waste precious R&R time recuperating!
